I am absolutely pleased with Mary J's last album!
During the first listen, I felt it began strong then lost momentum by Track Number #4 and then picked back up near the end. But then…. i added the magic potion.
I know what you’re thinking.. A BOTTLE OF WINE..
No. I had to play it loud in my car from work (during 5 o’clock traffic) and was fucking blown away. Listened to the album again with my homegirl, and I slowly began to feel the hair on the back of my neck stand, and anger….. The Mary J effect had taken place .. No pun intended.
Seriously, I was beginning to feel like a Bitter Woman.
She did a great job on taking the listener on a journey from heartbreak to triumph with this album. I mean she was channeling dope fiend Mary.
I was here for it all. She's strong and fearless. I've always respected her artistry. She continues to rise. We see you, Shawty. I know this album is going to uplift someone going through the same heartbreak — A heartbreak that would’ve landed me in jail after spending MY money on another Bxxxx.
This album is reminiscent of her album No More Drama.. And if your mom played the HELL out of this tape in 2001, then you already know this was fearlessly executed.
